Our aim is to provide a reliable, attentive and accepting place where a person can feel free to explore issues of being and becoming within a christian context.
The Oxford Christian Institute for Counselling (OCIC) was established initially in 1985 as an independent charity, in order to support and supplement the pastoral ministry of the churches.
It now provides counselling (to those of any faith or none), supervision and training.
These services are used by people throughout the Oxford region.
OCIC organises public conferences, workshops and seminars on the psychology and theology of counselling, and has recently developed an expanding ministry of retreats and quiet days.
The staff of ten counsellors all work to professional standards and receive regular clinical supervision and ongoing training.
OCIC is ecumenical. It is an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, abides by their Ethical Framework and is subject to their complaints procedure.
