Supervision

INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP SUPERVISION

As well as supervision of OCIC counsellors, we also provide regular supervision for other counsellors, therapists and those involved in the various caring professions. This can be done individually or in groups according to personal requirements.

Clergy, church leaders and pastoral carers can easily become isolated and benefit greatly from individual supervision or in groups with a supervisor where there is confidentiality and safety to discuss difficult matters arising from their work.

The current charge is £40.00 per hour for individual supervision or the time to be shared by up to 3 supervisees.

Supervision of spiritual directors

Spiritual Direction (sometimes known as spiritual accompaniment or soul friendship) is an early ministry of the Christian church which, in recent times, has had a significant rebirth. The focus of the ministry is the individual’s spiritual journey, relationship with God and the prayer life which are explored in a one-to-one environment. Whilst not duplicating the counselling process, spiritual direction may helpfully take place alongside it. Just as in counselling, supervision is considered essential since it provides a space in which to explore and develop good practice whilst ensuring that the anonymity of the client is maintained. OCIC can provide such supervision, either individual or group, which currently takes place in Princes Risborough. The current fee is £40 per full hour for an individual or for a group.

SUPERVISION OF PASTORAL CARE

OCIC also offers supervision to mental health professionals, clergy, other church leaders and pastoral care workers.  For more information about this aspect of our service, please download our information note.
