I was Head of Training at the Counselling Centre Tunbridge Wells for three years, during that time I was responsible for developing the initial professional training and the continuing professional development courses. I was also responsible for the successful application for BACP Accreditation for the Diploma Course and supported individual counsellors in their applications for accreditation.
My most recent work was as a case manager for an Employee Assistance Programme. In this post I worked with affiliate counsellors on the telephone to support them in their work with clients and to ensure they were working to comply with the policies of the provider.
I have managed my own small private practice in counselling and supervision since qualifying. Many of the clients within this setting were requiring support in managing stress due to various circumstances.
Following the completion of my M.Sc. in Supervision, I have undertaken a number of contracts working with professionals in different organisational settings. This supervision is aimed at exploring how the individuals’ work impacts on them and how they might address this within the organisation. It is also intended to facilitate the individual in finding ways to improve their relationship and communication either with their client group or their organisation.
